Hotel Booking
The best way to avoid the hassles of hotel booking is to do it online a few weeks in advance, so that when you get to Coronado Island, your accommodations will be ready and waiting. As for where to stay in Coronado, you have plenty of options to choose from. One of the most popular places to stay is the famous Hotel del Coronado. The hotel has been host a ton of A-list celebrities like Charlie Chaplin and Brad Pit. It was also the setting for the Marilyn Monroe film, “Some Like it Hot”.

There are other, more affordable options for Coronado Beach hotels as well, though, like the Coronado Beach Resort, which offers mid-range prices and suits that come with full kitchens, private balconies and ocean views from rooftop spas.

Getting to Coronado Island
Arriving at Coronado Island from San Diego if you’re driving is fairly easy. Just take the Coronado Bay Bridge exit off the Interstate 5. The drive over the bridge is beautiful, offering plenty of great photo ops. If you arrived by plane or train, you can take a colorful ferry ride from the San Diego side of the bay to Coronado. The Coronado Ferry runs from 9a.m. to 10p.m. daily.

Tour the Island

Seeing the City
From Coronado, you can get to all of San Diego’s main attractions by taking the Old Town Trolley. They trolley leaves from Coronado Island and makes a loop around the entire city, stopping at Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, Horton Plaza, historic Old Town and Sea Port Village.
